If you saw a message that a feature “needs a higher plan” or that you reached a plan limit, this page explains what the gate or limit covers and when it is checked. For what each plan currently includes, and the exact limits, see the plans and pricing page or, inside the app, the plan comparison on the Billing page. Plans are Professional, Business, and Enterprise. New accounts start on a Business trial. For subscribing, seats, and where to see current prices, see Billing.

Features by plan

Limits that depend on your plan

These limits differ by plan. The current numbers are on the plans and pricing page and in the app’s plan comparison. The bulk grid builder opens on every plan. The records-per-submission limit is what differs. Seats are not a plan feature: card-billed plans bill each additional member, and trial and invoiced accounts have a seat cap. See Seats.

What you see when you hit a gate

  • Creating a workspace or custom domain over the limit shows Workspace limit reached or Custom domain limit reached, with a Choose a plan link to the pricing page.
  • Creating an outbound connector without Business shows Outbound connectors need a higher plan.
  • Publishing a governance model that contains an automated picklist on Professional shows Publishing needs a higher plan and names the picklists. Publishing stays blocked while the model contains one, even if no field uses it, so the alternative to upgrading is to remove it.
  • Submitting to a taxonomy that uses an automated picklist on Professional fails with a message that names the picklists and says the submission is saved as a draft. Whoever submits usually cannot change the plan, so ask an account owner or admin.
  • Single Sign-On shows an Enterprise tag in the admin sidebar and a Contact sales option when your plan does not include it.

What your trial includes

The trial includes every Business feature and limit, with a seat cap. You can switch the trial to Professional before subscribing, which changes what it includes right away. See Your trial.

What happens when you downgrade

Moving from Business to Professional shows a confirmation that lists what you lose. Nothing is deleted.
  • Outbound connectors: existing connectors stop delivering. You can still open, edit, and test them, and queued records are kept. After you upgrade again, delivery restarts when the next record is approved.
  • Automated picklists: submissions on taxonomies that use one can no longer be sent for review or approved, so those taxonomies stop producing new records. Drafts still save, and you cannot publish a model that uses an automated picklist.
  • Approval workflows: submissions can no longer be sent for review. Anything already in review can still be approved, and you can always turn review off.
  • Records per submission: drops to the lower plan’s limit. Larger drafts stay saved and readable until you trim them.
  • Workspaces and custom domains: the downgrade is blocked while you have more than the lower plan allows. Remove the extras first.
An account without Enterprise that already has SSO connections can still review and delete them, but cannot add, change, test, or activate them.
